The Google News Publisher Center added a way for publishers to add links to their apps. This will be used to show apps in the Editors' Pick section in Google News.

The Google News Editors’ Pick section will soon have links to apps of popular and relevant Google News publishers.

Stacie Chan from the Google News team announced in a help thread that the Google News Publisher Center has a new feature to enable Google News publishers to add their apps.

This will allow Google to know that your app is news-related and relevant to your news Web site, which is already indexed by the Google News service.

Stacie Chan wrote, “We know many of your publications have their own native Android and/or iOS apps — so starting today, you can now add your mobile app URLs to the Publisher Center.” Chan added, “In the very near future, we will surface the mobile app links on the Editors’ Picks section in Google News — both on the Web and in the News & Weather app.”

Here is a picture of the new section to add your apps, if you are a Google News publisher:

To have your app show up, you need to link your app in the Google News Publisher center and add your Editors’ Picks feed in the Google News Publisher Center.
