Earlier this year, Search Engine Land participated in its first conversational marketing campaign through our ad partner, Federated Media. We’re now doing another one, and this is a short post to ensure readers know that while we’re taking part in a new “conversation,” our writers are not being told what to say as part of that conversation.
LookSmart wanted some of our writers to contribute articles as part of its Thought Leadership Series site. After discussing this with Federated Media, we settled on the topic of small business and search. Three of us here at Search Engine Land — myself, Greg Sterling and Matt McGee, will be doing pieces this month on the topic.
No one is telling us what to write or editing our content. In fact, all of us already had our respective topics in mind before the campaign invitation even came in. My piece, Searching For Small Businesses, Coming Up Frustrated, is out now, talking about issues I recently discovered with small businesses “not getting” search that I’ve personally encountered recently.
