The Next Web reports Google has quietly added back the RSS Feed option to Google Alerts. I’ve confirmed the RSS Feed option has indeed returned at google.com/alerts.

In early July, Google quietly dropped RSS delivery as an option for Google Alerts. I lost tons of the alerts I’ve set up, however, they still seemed to work with Feedly, when I transitioned from Google Reader after Google Reader closed.

Here is a picture of the need “Feed” option within Google Alerts:

As you can see, you have the option within “deliver to” to deliver the alert to a feed.

After you click “create alert”, you will be taken to the manage Google Alerts page where you will find the RSS URL you can copy and paste into your preferred RSS reader.

I am grateful that this option is back, just sad I lost most of what I had set up previously. I wonder if Google can restore the old alerts?
