One of the challenges that bloggers face, compared to ‘real’ journalists, is that we’re not conditioned to churn out stories, no matter what. And so with a deadline looming for this post, I wondered what to write about, but nothing really grabbed my attention. But then I got to thinking – maybe I should write […]

TechCrunch reports that social network Bebo launched its new Open Application Platform this morning in San Francisco. Rumors abound that Facebook Music will be announced at ad:tech in NY next week. Word is that Facebook is in discussions with major music […]
During this afternoon’s Microsoft-Facebook conference call, the question was asked whether the new deal would include paid search. Microsoft’s Kevin Johnson and Facebook’s Owen Van Natta declined to directly answer the question and made general statements about future collaboration and that the deal a “win win win.” Nobody listening was really all that clear on […]

I wanted to make some time and dive deep into the issue of why all those top search terms from the various search engines don’t match. Others have thankfully been doing that. The short answer, as I’ve written before, is that they are all heavily filtered. That’s why you don’t see popular terms like […]
I went looking for Google’s top terms of 2006 today after seeing that some of them had been leaked to the UK press. Nothing public was up on either the Google press releases page (no surprise, typically hours behind when Google actually releases news) or the main Google Zeitgeist page or the 2006 page. I […]
