The Next Web reports Google has quietly added back the RSS Feed option to Google Alerts. I’ve confirmed the RSS Feed option has indeed returned at google.com/alerts. In early July, Google quietly dropped RSS delivery as an option for Google Alerts. I lost tons of the alerts I’ve set up, however, they still seemed to […]

In mid-November, Google Analytics and Feedburner announced a very interesting integration. Where real-time search answers What’s happening right now?, hyperlocal search answers the question, What’s happening right here? It’s like local search on steroids, you could say. Outside.in has, for several years, been somewhat like a clearinghouse of hyperlocal information […]

When I heard about the call with Yahoo yesterday, which was to feature “a significant announcement,” I thought: “Bing, here it is.” When it turned out the call was about a formal announcement of the new Yahoo homepage I was disappointed; it seemed anti-climactic. The existence of a forthcoming Yahoo homepage redesign has been known […]

One challenge we all have is showing our clients evidence that our work is having the effect we said it would. What would make this part of the process easier is if there was one single universal tool that could identify every single instance when a site is mentioned, linked, tagged, tweeted, or feeded. That perfect tool doesn't exist, but a few weeks ago Delicious unveiled a relaunch, and what was once really a pain is now a breeze.
